dnj represented artist, Clay Lipsky, has been included in a recent exhibition, "Alternate Realities,"at Arena 1 (a project of Santa Monica Art Studios). Four of Lipsky's photographs from his In Dark Light series are currently being shown in this exhibition.

Alternate Realities will run through March 29, 2014.

Lipsky's experience at the Lishui Int'l Photographic Culture Festival feat. on Lenscratch

"Several months ago curators Yan Li and Blue Mitchell invited a select group of photographers to exhibit at the 2013 Lishui International Photographic Culture Festival in China. This festival occurs every other year and is an event I was aware of as an array of American photographers have shown there in the past thanks to Yan Li.  For 2013 a much smaller group would be attending representing alternative process based works in a show called Unconventional Photography. It was an exciting opportunity for me as I had never been to China and quickly jumped at the chance. Consequently flights were booked, travel visas acquired and prints made, but it all still seemed like a dream based solely in emails and fantasy. It wasn’t until I was making a connecting flight in the Beijing airport, with portfolio in hand, where I encountered fellow photographer, Bill Vaccaro, when things finally began to feel real. Upon arrival in Wenzhou we were greeted at the airport by some smiling faces with warm greetings and the real adventure began..."  - Clay Lipsky in Lenscratch

dnj artist Clay Lipsky has been featured in PHOTO+, Seoul's premier photography magazine. The six page spread includes an interview with Lipsky and showcases his series In Dark Light.

Last Week for "Claude Cahun and After" Exhibit at dnj

Only a few days left to see our current exhibit "Claude Cahun and After." The show closes this Saturday, October 26. 

This group exhibit features five different contemporary artists (Clay Lipsky, Tam Tran, Corey Grayhorse, Sia Aryai and Ni Rong) alongside several vintage Claude Cahun photographs. Be sure to stop by if you have yet to see the show!

dnj featured on L'oeil de la Photographie

dnj Gallery's current exhibition, Claude Cahun and After has been featured on the French focused, but globally concerned blog, L'oeil de la Photographie.

This exhibition features contemporary artists Clay Lipsky, Ni Rong, Tam Tran, Sia Aryai, Corey Grayhorse, and vintage prints by Claude Cahun. The show will be up through October 26, 2013 at dnj gallery located in Santa Monica's Bergamot Station.

Opening Reception for "Claude Cahun and After"

Photos from last weekend's opening of our newest show, "Claude Cahun and After." The show features four vintage photographs by Claude Cahun as well as work by five contemporary artists whose photographic series all explore various themes of identity. The show will be on view through October 26.
